I have well developed skills in quantitative research focusing particularly on applied econometrics, macroeconomic policy design and energy economy. My ability to apply analytical and statistical methods for the purpose of explaining real economic issues has led to several publications in refereed academic Journals. My research has also facilitated and supported the energy policy design of the Chinese government.

Responsible for performing a wide range of energy related (i.e. oil, gas, coal, electricity, wind, solar, etc.) microeconomic and macroeconomic activities.

 

Selected Accomplishments:

  • Member of a team that developed an energy strategy for the 12th Five-Year Plan of the National Development and Reform Commission of China and the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. A proposed 'coal price to electricity tariff linkage mechanism' was implemented by the Chinese Government in December 2012

  • Developed valuation models that analyzed optimal benefits and investment incentives created by continued Chinese feed-in tariffs for wind and solar power generations.

  • Provided reliable estimates of China's potential to substitute between different fuel types, taking into consideration that the country is the highest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions where coal is a major factor.

  • Developed an effective hedging strategy for Ghana against oil risks and provided support for use of the antimartingale system in the stock market.

  • Proposed application of a pure Markov-Switching variance model that analyzed and forecasted natural gas prices and regime-shifts of the natural gas market.

  • Publication in refereed academic Journals.
